Well its ready for its body now, "whats another year"

It's Ready, It's Ready, It's Ready.

I got a great email today from my friends in the Czech Republic, it simply said  " Tatra is ready :-) "  and attached were 20 pictures, I have to say they have done a great job both inside and out.

First the inside pictures:

Nearly there ......

We it seems that the truck is nearly ready for collection, they didn't manage to get the single wheels organised in the end so it looks like i will be driving it home with the twins fitted and the big single tyres strapped to the chassis.
I can tackle the wheels when i get home.

I Just liked this picture, It shows the scale of the truck and the work being done.

Fuel Tank Mountings in Place.

The mounting brackets for the two 400Ltr Fuel tanks, there will be another  bracket for the other 400Ltr tank on the other side.

Latest Update, Exaust

This shows the exhaust system finished, I will probably replace the upright pipe with a nice Stainless steel one at some time in the future. 

Lighting and a few nice touches.

Cab Starting to Take Shape

It's nice to see the cab finally starting to take shape both inside and out.

Wheels, Wheels, Wheels,

More news for CZ, there seems to be a problem sourcing the correct wheels for the rear of the truck. Finally after trying several types they have decided that 14 x 22,5 ET 90 wheels are the correct ones.

Sourcing these seems to be a problem, not only are they expensive but they seem to take months to acquire.

Cab Facelift

Just got the latest pictures from my friends in the Czech Republic, they have fitted the new type facelift to the front of the truck, Looking good now.

Upholstery is starting to take shape now.

Tyres arrived from Holland

Well the tyres arrived from Holland in record time, Cant wait to see them fitted on the rims. I managed to buy these part worn tyres with 95% tread on them for €400.00 less per tyre than new ones.

Progress is Slow.

Not much to report for the last few weeks, My friends in the Czech Republic were on holiday for a few weeks so nothing much has been done for that time.

The good news is that they are now back from holidays and have taken delivery of the front "facelift" kit, wheel arches, steps for the truck,   I am told that these are being fitted as we speak.
I am hopeful that by the end of the week i will have some photographic evidence of these parts fitted.

On another good note, the Michelin XZL 445 65x22.5 Tyres are winging there way from holland to the Czech Republic to be fitted to the truck.

Test Fitting the new Dash

Here are the latest pictures of the test fitting of the new dashboard, Not much progress lately, waiting for the new front "Facelift" parts to be delivered, that should make a huge improvement to the look of the truck.

We are also not too far away from the new tyres, the wheels are getting lonely waiting for them !

Hmm ! Might have to do a bit of reorganising of things here, a distinct lack of symmetry !!

Not the tyres i am going to fit, this was just to test the larger wheels i am fitting.
Still it looks awsom !!

A Few finishing touches starting to take place.

The latest pictures show a few very nice finishing touches starting to appear, I must say these guys are really starting to impress me.
Here is some lovely detail on the engine air intake fan.
